What i learned in lenes and theory of fun is how game mechanics and the flow tie in to  designing games and have attributes in a game. as a designer having mechanics and flow determines how your game performs and runs when its played by the player.

Yet most mechanics can confuse players and break the flow pattern of the game which playtesting is important to look for things that can cause a disruption in the flow in the game.

when creating a game you need to have a goal for your game what does your game represents and how you mechanics tie into your game formative narrative.

these questions can help a designer to accesses the formula  of creating and building a game and how does your game entertains and intrigues the player with how well you r goal that your game is trying to say or runs with the mechanics that you added in to your game.
